Kristen Withers -- Junior -- Jesuit HS (OR) **Currently studying abroad in Madrid, Spain**

Choosing a college can be an overwhelming decision. But relax. When it comes down to making it, you will know where you belong. I chose Redlands for many reasons. I love the location, I love the weather, and the people and campus were very welcoming. But most of all, when I visited, I felt like I belonged here. I come from a small high school, and the sense of community here welcomed me and made me feel right at home. I also came from a school and community where I could count on anyone, administrators, friends, teachers, and family for anything. That is exactly what you find at the U of R. Right away the people in your dorms become like family members, in October you wonder how you could have only known them for a month, it feels like you´ve known them your whole life. The faculty is amazing and will always take the time to help you with anything. So if you are from the Northwest, I am hoping you also enjoy the outdoors. Redlands is perfect for people who enjoy the outdoors. On the weekends there are great places to go hiking, skiing in the winter, and also you cannot go wrong with a day on a sunny California beach. Comming to Redlands was the best decision I ever made in my life. Redlands truly opened up a shy girl from little Portland, Oregon to the world. As I write this, I am in Madrid, Spain having the most amazing experience of my life. Redlands gave me the confidence and means to do this. I wish you all luck in making your decision. Remember to relax, and you will know where you belong (I hope its Redlands). Feel free to email me at anytime with questions, and if you come visit in the Spring I will be around and more than happy to meet with you. Good luck.
